Hello,

I am a homeschooling mom of two teenage children (son 16 and daughter 13).  This year they both took Saxon Pre Algebra and did pretty well.  Math U See was recommended to me by a friend.  I believe my son could really benefit from the program.  I have given both children the pretest.  My son did well however had some difficulties with fractions (Epsilon).  The next day he took the competency exam and I noticed there are some problems he couldn't do (word problems).  Does this mean he has learning gaps?  I just don't want to send him backwards too much.

My daughter on the other hand did quite well with the pretest.  She has also took the Epsilon compentency.  She missed 4 in all.  The next day I made her take the Zeta compentency and she missed 3.  Where should she begin?

Any help would be appreciated as I am anxious to start the program, just needing help where to begin.
