Good afternoon!

I need some advice to help my 9 yo daughter with her facts (add/sub/mult). We drill but she still chokes on the easiest of them. She can do the problems, she just seems to delay when put on the spot. I had the same problem & do not know how to address it without exasperating her, especially since I can't do it myself Shocked). I'm also wondering if it's an issue I need to worry about. Oh, I forgot to mention that she is primarily a kinesthetic learner, secondary is visual.

Thanks so much!
Genevieve

I too can relate to this.  My 4th grade daughter is fantastic in math.  We have used A Beka from the start, but I didn't have her memorize +/- like we should have Sad  Now, she has to count on her fingers....makes maths a little stressful and way longer than it needs to be.  She is not motivated at all to learn mult/division and this is starting to become a negative.  We are swithching to MUS for next year.

My question would be:  Where do you start a child who can work the problems (on/above grade level, but needs to learn basic +,-,x,division facts?

We want to stop counting on our fingers!  Sorry to ask the same question...
